The wait for The Matrix Resurrections trailer is almost over, with the final reveal set for Thursday at 9 a.m. EST. However, a recently revamped WhatIsTheMatrix.com website site has gone interactive with a choose your own adventure mission.
Choose the red or blue pill again and go down the rabbit hole to find footage on the website.
The Matrix website, which launched with the first movie back in 1999, now features two pills, one red and one blue, each of which reveals one of the 180,000 unique teaser videos, based on the time and day you select it. They eerily incorporate the actual time you select them to add to the feeling of immersion. Each features exclusive footage from the upcoming film along with mysterious voiceovers.
There are flashes of Neo doing his Chosen One thing, along with sneak peeks of the new characters — two of which lend their voices to the teasers. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s character warns those who select the blue pill that the world is not quite what it seems, whereas Neil Patrick Harris’ character hints at why visitors who choose the red pill are struggling to tell fact from fiction.

The film, which was written and directed by Lana Wachowski, brings back Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss from the original trilogy and — in addition to the aforementioned Abdul-Mateen and Harris — adds Jessica Henwick and Christina Ricci, plus out actors Jonathan Groff and Brian J. Smith, to its cast.
The Matrix Resurrections hits theaters and HBO Max on December 22.
